Duty First
This is a dream, a small fraction of vacation for your soul. And it's not free, and it's not forever. That's why you need to enjoy it as much as you can and stop overworrying in meaningless things.
Deep, very deep in your soul you know it, and when you start to experience some kind of discomfort and hard situations in life is when you start remembering that you are actually doing well. You start to really appreciate life and the small things that you normally take for granted.
You wonder why people scream when they are wounded in battle, have a serious illness or when woman give birth? That's because life hurts, and it's precious to have it and protect it. Therefore you'd better enjoy while there is no pain. Or when you are enjoying so much that you feel you are in heaven.
But of course! Humans are so complicated, that even having "memento mori" tattoed on their face will not prevent them to forget it.
That's because we are all daydreaming. We have fallen into the spell of humanism. We like comfort and following without knowing. We like the easy. We like the celebration of the ego. We like to feel we are right and that we deserve a special treatment.
What for? What's cool about humans? We are just smart, creative, and girls are beautiful. Other than that, we just destroy everything we touch. The truly good things about us are more due to our souls than to our human capacities. Even honor, something that for some time humans seemed to have, is getting more and more lost overtime. As if honor was more about a certain kind of people, not something natural in humankind.
War, why should we ignore it? Look everywhere, down and up. The country you live and all the comfort you enjoy, it's because you earned it. Or somebody else did it for you. Somebody else gave their lives, dreams and went straight into the dark tunnel of death without hesitation. Fear, yes, it's normal. But at some point for the true warriors, it becomes usual. A duty, one more day in the office.
There are soldiers and there are commanders. The soldiers can enjoy, go back to their wives, make love and even desert if they want. I mean, if they survived a battle, they have all the right to enjoy the life they succeeded in protect. After seeing the horrors of war, even death can allow some reprieve.
But then there are the commanders. They enjoy and make love like no one else, but they cannot desert. Otherwise hell on earth awaits for them.
